What a fantastic and enriching set of inputs we had yesterday during our BeNext: Designing Employee Experience in the New World of Work Masterclass!

The learners, who are starting their third week of their learning journey, had the opportunity to learn from and interact with three global experts on the topic: Sasha Wight, Director, Employee Experience at wrkflow; Chloe Zhou, Head of Talent Acquisition APAC, CEER & META @Philips DA and Managing Director HR.

The flexibility and autonomy that teams require when returning to work in the hybrid model and the convenience of this modality for companies in the current post-pandemic context were pointed out by the learners through a MentiMeter exercise. From there, Sasha and Chloe responded to the issues raised by Rajesh Lele, BeNext consultant, and related to the Employee Experience.

These were some of the valuable inputs:

-The understanding of EX varies depending on the context and maturity of the company. For some organizations, it is an issue related only to HR management, but a more holistic view extends EX to all employee interactions with the organization, during the entire work cycle: from the time they are candidates for a position, until they leave the company.

-There are elements such as authenticity (related to a psychologically safe work environment), purpose and a sense of belonging that are common to the understanding of EX in organizations. The current context poses the challenge of perfecting this experience, with the support and use of technology and the digital tools.

-The challenge for managers is to manage this experience, in the new working modalities, fostering team cohesion and wellbeing, identifying individual needs and without reducing productivity and engagement.

In a second part of the session, Laura Cole and Sasha Wight approached EX as a process that should probe, with objective tools, into what employees’ needs are (“Ex research’’), and put workers at the heart of the organization’s processes.

The numerous inputs from the two experts was practical and allowed the learners to interact and co-create conclusions. One of the most valuable considerations was to take into account generational differences and expectations (“be demographically specific’’) and prioritize channels for the organization to build real connections with its employees.

It was a wide-ranging discussion and all in all, our participants thought, a fantastic session with new knowledge and insights!

zThank you to all who participated and enjoy the rest of your BeNext learning journey!
